The Second Paw is a technology-powered cat welfare platform operated by Second Paw LLC, a Florida limited liability company. We exist because cats deserve better — and because the people who love them deserve the tools, information, and connections to make a real difference.

We connect people with local cat rescue organizations by ZIP code, but that's just where we start. The Second Paw is built to serve every person who has ever loved a cat, found a cat, lost a cat, or wanted to help one. That means rescue discovery, adoption guidance, cat health education, behavior resources, ESA information, animal legislation tracking, TNR program support, emergency foster coordination, shelter-to-shelter knowledge sharing, and direct support for the rescue organizations doing the hardest work in communities across the country.

We never charge rescue organizations to be listed. We never charge users to search. We never accept advertising. The Second Paw exists because of people who believe that technology should serve a mission — and that every cat deserves a second chance.

We collect only what we need to operate the platform:

• ZIP codes entered into the search tool (not stored, used only to return results)
• Email addresses voluntarily submitted through our newsletter signup
• Basic usage data collected automatically by our hosting provider (Vercel) such as page views and general location data

• We do not collect your name unless you provide it voluntarily
• We do not collect payment information (merchandise purchases are processed by Shopify and donations are processed by Donorbox)
• We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes
• We do not sell your data to anyone, ever

• Email addresses are used only to send newsletters and updates you signed up for
• ZIP code searches are used only to return rescue organization results
• We do not share your information with third parties except as required to operate the platform

Donations to The Second Paw support our mission of connecting cats with the people who can help them. Funds are used to maintain and improve the platform, support cat rescue programs and initiatives, and contribute to organizations that share our commitment to giving cats a second chance. While there are inherent costs to operating The Second Paw, every dollar is directed toward advancing the mission — not toward profit.

The Second Paw does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information to us, please contact us at hello@thesecondpaw.org and we will delete it promptly.
